'Tis the Season

Well, I decorated for Christmas today! It is a little early, but if we don't do it early, we won't get to enjoy it! I was missing family today and a little bummed. I was surprised that decorating for Christmas cheered me up. As I was taking out our Christmas ornaments, it was refreshing and a blessing to see ornaments that our family and friends had given us. I'm glad that I label the ornaments so that it shows me who I got it from. We miss you guys!

My Favorite Season Begins

I guess my goal should be to blog at least twice a month! I can't believe how fast the time flies by. Since I last updated you, we have new house guests. A dog named Bentley, and friends who are living with us until their move to Chicago. We have enjoyed having Sean and Kelsey here. It is nice to connect with another couple that is similar to yourself! Here are some pictures from this past month....
What our typical weekend looks like. This is Rylie. She came to stay with us for a few weeks. She helped James study! Now Bentley helps James :). Although, I think James plays with Bentley more than he studies!

One of our new housemates, probably the cutest one ;), Bentley.

Our lawn is golden! The leaves are changing so quickly.

James takes his PE in California in the next couple of weeks. He has been studying for his master's and his test. It keeps him busy. I just completed one more of my master's courses. I will start another 8 week course in a week. I only have 5 more classes until I graduate, woo hoo!

Happy Labor Day!

James and I have been enjoying Labor Day weekend by spending some time together around Kansas City. First, we made a stop at Irish Fest. It is one of the biggest festivals in Kansas City. Fortunately for us, a friend gave us sponsor tickets, so we got in for free and got free food. We loved listening to the bands. I am now on the search for music from the band Kila!

On Monday, our friends invited us to go apple picking in Weston, Missouri. It was a great time. The weather has been perfect. Afterwards, while James was studying (or pretending to study), I made apple pie!

Enjoy the pictures!
Waiting for The Elders! They are a local irish band.

Picking apples at Weston.

They had all kinds of pumpkins.

We even got to taste apple slushies.
Yum!

Cake Pops!

After recieving the a cake pop book for Christmas (Thanks, Mary & Gary!) I thought that it was time to finally attempt the "cupcake" cake pop. I had made a batch of cake pops for a baby shower, but wanted to make the "cupcake" kind. They were a little more intimidating. Here is how it went:

After the cake cooled, I crumbled it. After this, I will add icing

Finished product!

I think it turned out well. However, I look forward to trying it again and trying to perfect the cupcakes! They are soo tastey!
